Biography

Hollywood and audiences alike are wild about Brooke Burke, the beautiful, dynamic and adventurous host of E! Entertainment Television's popular travel series, "Wild On."

Burke is currently shooting the third season of "Wild On," which takes viewers to some of the hottest, most exotic places around the world, showcasing popular travel destinations, wild parties, the best beaches and most unique and secluded locales. "The sun is always shining somewhere in the world, and that's where we go," says Burke, who has already been to Sardinia, Morocco, the Mayan Riviera, Belize and Aruba. "Some of my favorite activities have been rocket flying in New Zealand, wrestling a 14-foot crocodile in Australia, skydiving, open water shark diving, exploring the underground city in Naples, scaling a castle wall in Croatia and interviewing U2."

Rated the second highest show on the network, "Wild On" continues to expose Burke to a variety of cultures, people, food and personal challenges. Her first assignment for the show was in Spain to participate in La Tomatina -- the tomato war. "It's the world's largest food fight you can imagine with forty thousand drunken Spaniards and one hundred and twenty tons of tomatoes." After surviving that, there have only been two things that the thrill-seeker has refused to do: bungy jumping and going on a lobster dive. "I have a huge bug phobia, and they are the cockroaches of the sea." You can catch Brooke's further adventures on "Wild On" six nights a week at 12:00AM (ET/PT), with a new episode premiering every Thursday night at 10:00PM (ET/PT).
Beyond "Wild On," Brooke has a new series in development at E! called "Rank," which covers everything that is hip, hot and cool in movies, television and pop culture. The pilot episode, which ranks the 25 sexiest men, will air as an E! original special in September 2001.

As evidence of Burke's emerging popularity and fan base, she gets the largest number of hits on E! Online, and she was recently selected as one of three women in the world to be photographed for a 2002 At A Glance Calendar. In addition, Brooke will release her own private edition calendar for 2002 available at www.BBsBoutique.com, which was shot on locations around the world and includes never-before-seen images from her favorite photo shoots this past year. A behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of the calendar will air only on E! this coming holiday season.

Brooke has most recently been tapped to serve as the newest Ambassador for Budweiser, for which she serves as spokesperson and host of their "Wild On Bud" promotional campaign currently running through October.

Raised in Tucson, Arizona, Burke never envisioned herself in the entertainment industry. "When I was young, I wanted to do something more low-key, like become a drummer in a rock band," says Burke, whose French, Irish and Portuguese descent make up her
stunningly exotic look. While accompanying a high school friend to a modeling agency in Scottsdale, Arizona, Brooke was discovered by a talent scout who happened to be there.

After pursuing modeling near her hometown and going on to win an acting scholarship, Burke moved to Los Angeles where she studied broadcast journalism at UCLA. In between classes during her first year at school, Burke signed with the industry's highest profile agencies including Ford and Wilhelmina. In addition to gracing dozens of magazine covers, billboards, swimsuit editorials, catalogs and posters, Burke has also starred in a string of popular commercials. She is the "beautiful body" in the Bally's Total Fitness commercials as well as Yankee's shortstop, Derek Jeter's dream date for Discover Card.

During her fifteen days a month at home in Los Angeles, Brooke enjoys spending family time, doing pilates, taking long walks, horseback riding, reading psychology books, cooking holiday meals and going to see movies and plays. She also regularly volunteers her time to work with such charitable organizations as Athletes & Entertainers for Kids and the Entertainment Industry Foundation.
